Survey: 85% of Part D Seniors in Preferred Pharmacy Plans are Satisfied With Costs, Pharmacy Choices

Medicare Part D seniors in plans with preferred pharmacy networks are overwhelmingly satisfied, citing lower costs, convenient access to pharmacies and other benefits, according to a new survey from Hart Research Associates released today by the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA). More than 40% of Part D seniors (9.5 million) are currently enrolled in plans with preferred networks.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) May 20, 2013

Medicare Part D seniors in plans with preferred pharmacy networks are overwhelmingly satisfied, citing lower costs, convenient access to pharmacies and other benefits, according to a new survey from Hart Research Associates released today by the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA). More than 40% of Part D seniors (9.5 million) are currently enrolled in plans with preferred networks.

“Seniors like the lower costs, pharmacy choices, and overall value of plans with preferred pharmacy networks,” said PCMA President and CEO Mark Merritt. “Furthermore, 80% of those in preferred pharmacy plans—which translates to over 7 million seniors— would be very upset if their plan was no longer available in the future.”

“Our survey results clearly show that seniors see Medicare Part D preferred networks as a ‘win-win,’ because they offer good value without sacrificing access to convenient pharmacies,” said Geoffrey Garin, President of Hart Research Associates.

While preferred physician and hospital networks have long been used to reduce costs, there is a growing understanding of the cost-savings potential by using pharmacy networks.

Key findings from the survey of seniors about their Medicare Part D preferred network plan include:

  •     Four in five seniors (80%) would be disappointed if their preferred network plan is eliminated.
  •     Seniors are overwhelmingly satisfied (85%) with their preferred network plan.
  •     The cost of premiums (50%) and copays (48%) are the most important considerations for seniors in selecting their preferred pharmacy plan.
  •     Increased costs is the most common reason seniors would be disappointed if their preferred network plan is eliminated.
  •     Seniors are very satisfied with the convenience of pharmacies (81%), the number of pharmacies in their network (74%), and the prescription medications available through their plan (75%).
  •     Cost is the top factor for seniors regardless of income, age, number of medications, and distance from their drugstore.
  •     Only 8% listed the number of pharmacies in the network as an important consideration.

Award Winning Customer Service Earns ‘Experts’ Complimentary Lunch – Employees Score ‘Thank You’ Party From ESCORT’s Loyal Customers

ESCORT Inc., designer of the world’s best radar detector, confirmed details today about employees receiving a free, paid lunch on behalf of ESCORT’s apparently satisfied customers, in return for ESCORT’s employees who go to great lengths to support and serve customers.

West Chester, OH (PRWEB) May 20, 2013

ESCORT Inc. (ESCORTinc.com), designer of the world’s best radar detectors, confirmed details today about employees receiving a free, paid lunch on behalf of ESCORT’s truly satisfied and appreciative customers. A thankful contingent of ESCORT radar detector owners have pooled their efforts and paid for a complete pizza lunch for ESCORT’s employees in return for the company’s dedication and response to them.

ESCORT forum users began several months back to discuss and then communicate their strong desire for a specific engineering design and feature set found in a previous product be added into one of ESCORT’s current class-leading radar detectors. Those requests were communicated to one key ESCORT employee who oversees the forum, Larry Clark. Larry worked with the users, making suggestions along the way to help move their request all the way up to the company President.

John Larson, ESCORT President and CEO, accepted their request and directed that it be accomplished.

The new addition, which increases the advanced radar detector users’ ability to control the response and performance of the detector, was well received by the radar detector community.

So much so, they insisted on returning the favor by ‘buying lunch’ for all ESCORT employees.

Those loyal customers used the ESCORT Forum to share their plan to buy lunch for ESCORT’s Experts,. They arranged to have local Cincinnati pizza chain, La Rosa’s, serve ESCORT employees lunch on May 20th at the radar detector innovator’s world headquarters in West Chester, Ohio.

“This is to thank ESCORT for listening to our requests in providing the recent REDLiNE (radar and laser detector) software update adding Ka segmentation and other requested toggle settings,” said one frequent blogger and current ESCORT customer.

And one good gesture, in turn, begets another.

In an open letter addressed to the loyal customers on the ESCORT forum, Larson replied:

“To The Great Forum Members at RadarDetectorForum.org,

Thank you for your passion, your persistence and your vision. If it weren’t for the forum members, your letter writing campaign and passion for the brand we would not have this exceptional new version of the Redline.

It all starts with the customer and we won’t forget it! If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t have the opportunity to come to work every day and work to design the best detectors in the world. We promise to keep pushing the envelope of innovation and to do it with input from great customers like you,” wrote Larson.

Larson’s push to respond to the forum members’ requests is one more manifestation of his overall efforts to lift ESCORT’s Customer Service response to be the best in consumer electronics. Larson frequently reminds all ESCORT employees through regularly scheduled Voice-of-the-Customer meetings that ESCORT exists to ultimately provide the customer with what they want.

Both the forum members’ comments and plans, and in return, President Larson’s open letter, were exchanged by the forum host, Mr. Clark (Larry to all of the forum regulars …).

In an update to company employees, Larry wrote;
“The hosts, or group who united to buy lunch for ESCORT, are all members of RadarDetectorForum.org, a popular radar detector related forum. Many of that sites bloggers also regularly participate in the ESCORT Radar Forum. Independent of ESCORT, the satisfied customers came up with the plan and contacted both the local pizza chain to serve, and ESCORT, for lunch. News of the proposal spread quick among the forum members ( http://www.radardetectorforum.org/showthread.php?t=22409 ).

Upon the initial contact to ESCORT, the firm asked that the satisfied customers donate their collection to a charity of their choice to which the forum members politely refused – they demanded to say ‘thank you’ to ESCORT employees for their outstanding service.”

So pizza for lunch it is. Employees and media are invited to the ESCORT headquarters, May 20, beginning at 11:30 AM. Forum members were invited as well but, being a national forum, most members who live across the country will not get the chance to join the employees … but they’ll be talking with them on the forum.

Empower the Girls We Love: Local Mom and Safety Expert Offers Life Safety Skills and Strategies for Teen Girls and Moms Offered in May

Personal safety training seminars for women available in Boca Raton, May 24 and 25, 2013.

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) May 20, 2013

Spring season is upon us, which means proms, graduation, parties, nights out and preparing for summer freedom. Whether your daughter is heading off to college, planning a trip with her classmates or simply going to the movies, her greater independence brings a new responsibility of keeping herself safe.

Preparing for your daughter’s personal safety as she matures is a must, as much as giving driving lessons. Many young women truly don’t understand the potential dangers of being on their own, even within the confines of a college campus. In fact, as high school graduates head out for the freedom of college life, there’s one fact that they are probably not aware of: A Department of Justice study revealed that most schools "vastly under report" sexual assault – and as many as one in four women are raped before graduation (http://www.cops.usdoj.gov/pdf/e03021472.pdf).

As a mother of two daughters, local resident Ellen van Olden feels the same way other moms feel about their girls. “Nothing is more important than the health and safety of my girls and preparing them with life safety skills they can actually use to reduce their risk of becoming a victim,” said van Olden. With her experience in the safety and security training industry since 1987, Ellen see the life-changing event of graduation as an opportunity to help educate and empower girls who are becoming more independent.

Prompted by her passion for every girl to have these skills before heading off to college, Ellen has developed a comprehensive personal safety training program, titled Empower the Girls We Love: Personal Safety Training 101, a SAM® Training, LLC course. Empower the Girls will bring Ellen’s expertise, training and no-nonsense approach to personal safety to all women of the community. Empower the Girls benefits all women, with a focus on high school and college-aged girls (ages 16-24 years old). This three-hour safety and self-defense program will prepare individuals with confidence building and skills to raise awareness and encourage personal safety at all times.

The Empower the Girls program includes instruction on building awareness, identifying potentially dangerous situations, and trusting instincts. It also teaches physical skills for self-defense. In this fast-paced and interactive program, participants will learn to:

  •     Increase overall personal safety through awareness, confidence and sense of empowerment.
  •     Reduce the risk becoming a victim through proactive preventions, defensive options and escape techniques.
  •     Enhance personal safety and ability to protect one’s self and others from dangerous situations.

The next Empower the Girls event will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 24 and 25 at:

Saint Andrew’s School
3600 Jog Road
Boca Raton, FL 33434

Friday’s class is from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Two sessions on Saturday are available from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Registration is available online at http://www.samprograms.com/schedule_cal.php. The fee is $95 per person or $75 per person when registering two or more.

Please feel free to give the gift of empowerment by making a one-time donation at http://www.samprograms.com and clicking on “Donate.” Corporate sponsors can reach Ellen van Olden at ellen(at)samprograms(dot)com, 954-255-6300, or Lisa Campanelli-Rose at lisa(dot)rose(at)campanellidesigns(dot)com, 954-849-0591.

The name Seva (say-va) is a Sanskrit word meaning self-less service. This is the philosophy that the organization was founded upon and continues to guide its work today. The compassion that drives Seva starts with the realization that we are all connected as one global community.

Seva was founded in 1978 by a group of medical professionals, counterculture activists, musicians, and compassionate individuals, all dedicated to the alleviation of suffering in the world. Most notably among them is public health expert Dr. Larry Brilliant, spiritual leader Ram Dass and humanitarian activist Wavy Gravy.

Seva Foundation is mostly known for its work in curable blindness. In 35 years Seva has helped restore eyesight to nearly 3.5 million people worldwide. Seva has served 30 million people with much needed services, including vision exams, low cost or free eye glasses, antibiotics to treat infection, and other important eye care services.

Seva focuses on serving communities where poverty levels are high and access to eye care services is low or otherwise non-existent. Seva builds programs that communities can sustain, such as the Aravind Eye Hospital, one of their very first projects, which has since grown to become the largest eye care provider in the world.
